How to enlarge drawings

Sometimes we need very large drawings, for example for posters, room decorations, etc. Since it is not easy to design a very large drawing, it is preferrable to enlarge a small drawing. We can do this in one of the following ways:

If you have an overhead projector, you can copy the small drawing on a transparent foil and project it onto the wall. In the place where the projected image appears, stick a large paper on the wall and follow the lines of the drawing with a pencil or felt pen.
To make the picture larger: Pull the projector away from the wall. To make it smaller: Push the projector nearer to the wall.
If you do not have an overhead projector, you can use the following method (which is a little more work):
With a ruler, draw a square grid over the small picture, with squares sized half an inch, for example. On the large sheet, draw the same number of squares, but make them larger according to the desired scale of enlargement. (For example, if the picture should be four times larger, the size of the squares would be two inch.) Now you need only to copy carefully the contents of each square.
