Epilogue

"The lesson is over, let us go home..." sing Peruvian Sunday School children as their farewell. - I hope this book will not be treated like that. The subjects mentioned here are too profound for being taken as just "one more lesson". I hope the thoughts exposed here may contribute to the emotional and spiritual healing of many lives, and later on to the changes which are so necessary in the structures and exercise of authority in the different spheres of society.
Especially for the Evangelical churches, who should be the most zealous to apply Biblical principles, I hope they will begin to give an example worthy of being followed, in the exercise of righteous authority within their own ranks. I do not have the position nor the influence for causing such changes myself, and I am not even seeking it. I do not have the ambition of being another foreign liberator. I consider that it is time for my Peruvian brothers and sisters to get out of their cage, to the wide and unknown territory of freedom, and that they assume themselves the responsibility for their personal and national destiny, under God's guidance. If my thoughts can contribute something to this goal, I will be more than satisfied.
